Dr Qasim, Rashid Khoso get cleared from ‘blackmailing fake complaints’

KARACHI: The probe committee which was tasked to investigate the allegations against the officers of College Education Department of the Sindh Government has concluded its inquiry and termed the complaints as baseless, fabricated, false and blackmailing tactics to dent the reputation of the department, it is learnt.

While taking stern notice of the unknown complaints against the well-reputed officers, Secretary College Education Department Ahmed Bux Narejo had constituted a three-member inquiry committee to investigate the matter and submit him a report.

The three-member inquiry committee comprised Prof Rashid Ahmed Mahar, Principal DJ Sindh Government Science College as chairman while Prof Syed Sarwar Ali Shah, Principal Government Commerce and Economic College Karachi and Prof Abdul Qadir, Principal Nabi Bagh ZM Government College Karachi as its members.

According to inquiry report exclusively available with the Sindhnews, the meeting of the fact finding committee was held on May 30, 2023 to investigate the allegations leveled by some accusers namely Aslam and others against two officers of the college education department namely Rashid Khoso Deputy Director and Muhammad Qasim Rajper, Deputy Director (Now Director Finance).

“The committee observed that there are two applications termed as anonymous with same content and allegations with different fake names and CNICs mailed to high-ups of the department by a handful of blackmailers and vested interest elements without any concrete evidence.

The applications have been dispatched from various cities, which are considered as tactics of blackmailing and malign the reputed officers of the department. The anonymous application which initiated the investigations lacked substantial evidence to support the allegations made against the officers in question.”

The committee thoroughly reviewed the official records, documents and correspondence related to the officers and found no evidence of misconduct or wrongdoing. Interviews were conducted with relevant officers, including the accused officers however no credible evidence or testimonies were obtained to substantiate the allegations, the report says.

The committee carefully analyzed all available information and determined that the allegations were baseless and fabricated with ulterior motives by vested interest elements. The committee is of the opinion that officers in question have demonstrated exemplary professionalism, honesty and competence in their jobs within the college education department.

There is no evidence to support the allegations made against them and the committee finds such information to be false, fabricated and malicious in nature. It is imperative to safeguard the reputation and integrity of the officers, as well as maintain trust and confidence within the department.

The committee recommends dismissing the baseless allegations against the officers and taking appropriate measures to protect their reputations. Efforts should be made to identify the individuals responsible for spreading false allegations and take necessary disciplinary actions against them. Besides, steps should be taken to raise awareness within the department about the consequences of making baseless accusations and the importance of maintaining a fair and transparent work environment. The committee suggested that regular monitoring and evaluation systems should be established to detect and address any potential false accusation in the future.

STEVTA and SET Pakistan ink MoU – Sindh’s 590,000 youth to get intl certification under Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Skill Support Program

KARACHI: In a major breakthrough, as many as 590,000 youth of Sindh will get international certification under Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Skill Support Program aimed at polishing the workforce to meet global industry.

In this regard, the Sindh Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (STEVTA) and the Socio Engineering Technologies (SET), Certiport Pakistan have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a partnership fircthe joint collaboration for international certification of 590,000 youth of Sindh.

Managing Director Stevta Munawar Ali Mithani and Dr Sonia Saleem, Designation Founder CEO, Master Solution Provider Certiport USA signed the agreement at authority’s headquarters.

It is mentioned here that the Socio Engineering Technologies (SET) Pakistan is an authorized master solution provider of Certiport, USA in Pakistan since 2019.

While talking to Sindhnews, Managing Director Stevta Munawar Ali Mithani says that this collaboration will ensure that trainees receive high quality education and training aligned with information standards, ultimately fostering a robust and adoptable workforce capable of meeting global industry demand.

“The MoU is intended to establish partnership between SET and STEVTA for the joint collaboration for international certification of 500,000 certifications in Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Skill Support Program with an aim of enhancing the quality, accessibility and global recognition of professional development initiatives in Pakistan”, he added.

Mr Mithani added that the envisioned collaboration aims to play pivotal role in developing an internationally skilled workforce in mutually identified fields. This initiative will enhance the skill set of workforce, thereby increasing their employability and competitiveness in the global job market.

STEVTA launches Arabic classes in Karachi institutions

KARACHI: The Sindh Technical Education & Vocational Training Authority (STEVTA) has launched the Arabic Language classes in Karachi.

The classes of Arabic language were inaugurated by His Excellency Dr. Bakheet Ateeq Al Rehmeithi, Consul General of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at Government Vocational Training Institute (GVTI) for Girls, Bufferzone here on Thursday.

Dr Bakheet Atique Al Rehameithi encouraged students and presented a motivational words for the scope of Arabic language and subsequent career pathways.

While addressing the ceremony in Urdu, Dr. Bakheet Atiq Al Rehmeithi thanked the Sindh government specially STEVTA. He referred the meeting with Chief Minister and the agreed items on the Arabic Language should be promoted in Pakistan, and termed this initiative of Arabic language classes a good omen.

He also shared his research that in the past there were proper institutes in Karachi from there the aspirants for Gulf would gone through Arabic Language Course it was a good system. He also informed at present 7 million Pakistani are working in UAE and contributing with a good Remittance for Pakistan.

He acknowledged the role of Pakistanis in the overall development of UAE and its mega projects. He informed UAE has good investment in Pakistan and UAE organizations need Pakistani skilled workers. We will also provide support to for their job placement, he also shared that the graduate Ceremony shall be arranged by UAE for the encouragement of Arabic Language Graduates. In his Speech he also expressed his brotherhood with Pakistan and also advised that all negative propagandas against Pakistan should be discouraged and at all communication platform.

While welcoming the guests, Managing Director STEVTA Munawar Ali Mithani elaborated authority’s core objective and its outreach.

Currently, STEVTA has 252 institution across Sindh that included technical, commercial and vocational, he said, adding Arabic classes have been launched in two institute i.e. GVTI Al Hyderi and GVTI Bufferzone.

“We wish to sign a MoU with Consulate of UAE to expand Arabic Language Labs in other parts of the province including Hyderabad, Nawabshah, Mirpurkhas, Sukkur and Larkana”, Mithani says.

He also presented the words of thanks for the commitment of Dr Bakheet even in the emergency situation of UAE. The MD STEVTA also presented the guests with traditional gift of Ajrak and Sindhi cap.
