KARACHI: Hailing from the historic district of Sindh province, Saeed Ahmed son of Allah Warayo Shaikh, was born in Garhi Mori, a small village of district Khairpur Mir’s on April 1, 1974.
Saeed got his primary education from the Government Primary School, Garhi Mori in year 1983 and did his secondary education from the Government High School, Garhi Mori. He was the brilliant student in his studies and clinched A plus grades. He got admission in the Government Degree College, Sukkur and did his intermediate in pre-engineering in year 1991. He was the topper of the college and secured A1 grade.
Mr Saeed secured first position for the Merchant Navy, however, his family didn’t allow him to proceed for the sailor-ship. Being fascinated with the atmosphere of the district Jamshoro’s varsities, Mr Saeed Shaikh got admission in Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET). He completed his Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in electrical engineering in 1998.
Soon after he received his engineering degree, Mr Saeed Ahmed joined Sindh Madrassatul Islam (SMI), the alma mater of founder of the nation Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, as honorary lecturer where he taught students for some three months.
In year 2000, Saeed Ahmed appeared in the Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) and qualified for the post of Assistant Director Minorities. However, he didn’t join.
Moreover, he also qualified for three various posts in the Hesco that include assistant engineer, revenue officer and sub engineer in year 2000. He joined the Hesco as revenue officer, however he left the job within fifteen to twenty days.
Saeed Shaikh, being the man of extraordinary skills and God gifted competitiveness, also qualified for the post of excise inspector in year 2000 which he did not join. He also qualified for multiple posts in the Radio Pakistan which included producer, scriptwriter.
He also qualified for the post of executive officer in Employees’ Old-Age Benefits Institutions (EOBI) which he did not accept.
Similarly, Saeed Ahmed also appeared in the Competitive Examination of SPSC held in year 2000 with the preparation of only fifteen days and he qualified for the post of Section Officer which he accepted.
In 2003, Mr Saeed appeared in the Pakistan’s most competitive exams – Central Superior Services – and qualified it, but he could not get allocation.
Saeed again qualified the competitive examination of SPSC held in 2003 and qualified for the post of Assistant Registrar Cooperative Housing Societies however he didn’t join.
His first posting was in Services, General Administration and Coordination Department (SGA&CD) in 2001 where he served with utmost dedication for more than two years.
In 2004, Saeed Ahmed was posted in the home department where he dealt province’s most sensitive issues like security, issues of private security companies, judicial matters, terrorism, law and order situation of the province, development schemes of the police department as well as prisons department, different administrative issues, special assignments and general elections of 2008 with establishment of central control room etc.
In April 2008, Saeed was posted as Section Officer at the Chief Minister’s House where he served for two years. In 2010, he was promoted to the post of Deputy Secretary and continued his posting at the CM House. He also remained Deputy Secretary (Budget) SGA&CD and also served as DS (Services) & Deputy Secretary (Legal) SGAC&D
In year 2019, Saeed Ahmed got promotion as Additional Secretary after his mandatory training of the MCMC. After his promotion, Saeed was posted as Director Finance/Admin in the Sindh Education Foundation (SEF) and then he was transferred and posted Additional Secretary (Services-II), Additional Secretary (General Administration). He was also assigned additional charge of the post of Additional Secretary (Services-I) SGAC&D for the brief period. He has also served as Additional Secretary Boards and Additional Secretary Admin Chief Minister’s Secretariat. He headed/supervised several special cells established at Chief Minister’s secretariat for different purposes like flood & relief, law & order during Muharram Ul Harram, cyclones, drought, 2013 general elections etc. Recently, he managed COVID-19 cell in SGAC&D quite efficiently.
Presently, Saeed Ahmed is posted as Director, Provincial Ombudsman “Harassment against women at workplaces”.
Mr Saeed Ahmed Shaikh is a role model for young officers as well as his peers in terms of competency, sincerity, intelligence, dedication and commitment. He is respected by his peers and seniors. He is widely regarded as a team builder who leads from the front.
KARACHI: Opening his eyes in the well-educated and well-settled family, Arshad Hussain Bhutto son of Muhammad Hussain Bhutto (late) was born on February 29, 1968 at Hyderabad, the second largest city of Sindh province. His father was a Professor by profession who was associated with the Education and Literacy Department, Government of Sindh.
Arshad Hussain Bhutto has two brothers and two sisters and all of them are well-educated and well-settled.
Mr Arshad received his primary education from the Model School, Old Campus in 1973. He passed his matriculation from the Board of Secondary Education Hyderabad in year 1983. He clinched A-grade in the matriculation.
He completed his intermediate from the Board of Intermediate Education Hyderabad in 1985. Yet again he passed his intermediate with flying colours.
Arshad Bhutto was an outstanding students in his studies who always took active part in debate and writing competitions. He also won several medals for his extraordinary skills.
Besides, Arshad also played cricket and football in his school and college level and represented cricket and football teams at different districts.
While finishing his intermediate, Arshad Hussain qualified the selection process and got admission in the premier engineering university of the Sindh province – Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET) Jamshoro – from where he passed his B.E (Civil) in 1991. He grabbed First Class in the university.
Mr Arshad always wanted to prove himself as the meritorious student and true and hardworking son of honest father who tasked him just to focus on studies and made them feel proud in the field of education.
With distinctive engineering degree, Arshad Bhutto appeared in the most competitive examination held by the Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) in 1992 in which he had qualified for the post of Assistant Executive Engineer (AEN) BS-17, Works and Services Department, Government of Sindh.
While serving the people of the province by ensuring best quality services, Mr Bhutto had served as AEN in different districts till 2012. He was then promoted to the post of Executive Engineer (XEN) BS-18 and served in various districts of the province until 2018. Arshad Bhutto was then promoted to the post of Superintendent Engineer (SE) BS-19 in 2018.
In 2023, Arshad Bhutto was promoted to the post of Chief Engineer (BS-20) and posted as Chief Engineer, Buildings Division Karachi. Mr Arshad has worked with utmost dedication, honesty and sincerity in various districts including Tando Muhammad Khan, Badin, Hala, Jacobabad, Matiyari, Karachi etc.
KARACHI: Belonging to well-known landlord and business family of Matiyari district (formerly Hyderabad), Athar Bahzad Memon son of Ghulam Mohammad (late) was born on July 5, 1978 in New Hala. His father owned agricultural lands, petrol pumps and rice mills.
Athar Bahzad Memon has three brothers and two sisters and all of them are well-educated and well settled.
Mr Bahzad received his primary education from Makhdoom Ameen Faheem Primary School, Hala while he completed his secondary education from the MG Government Secondary School, Hala. He clinched A-1 grades from the Board of Secondary Education Hyderabad in 1991.
He passed his intermediate from the S.I Government Degree College, Hala, affiliated with the Board of Intermediate Education Hyderabad in 1993. Yet again, he grabbed A-1 grades.
Mr Athar remained genius student in school, as well as, in the college who was admired by his teachers following his decent personality and soft-spoken attitude. He also won many writing competitions.
Mr Memon got admission in the most premier educational institution – Mehran University of Engineering and Technology – Jamshoro from where he completed his Bachelors of Engineering (B.E) in Civil in 1999. Again, he outshined in the university and grabbed top position.
In the meantime, Athar also did his Masters of Arts (MA) in Sindhi from prestigious University of Sindh. He also did another Masters of Arts (MA) in International Relations from University of Sindh.
Athar Bahzad Memon had contributed several articles on national and international issues in the local dailies which were widely read and lauded.
Soon after finishing his university education, Athar Bahzad Memon returned to his hometown and joined his family business for few years. In the meanwhile, he also started preparation for the most competitive examination to become a civil servant to serve people of the province.
In 2003, Athar Bahzad appeared and qualified the competitive examination held by the Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) with flying colours. He was allocated in Provincial Secretariat Service (PSS).
After joining the Sindh Government in 2005, Athar Bahzad went for necessary training to Nipa and to Bangladesh.
Firstly, Mr Bahzad was posted as Section Officer in Health Department. He also worked as DDO Coordination under the dynamic leadership of senior bureaucrat Usman Chachar. He also served at DCO Secretariat, Matiyari district for some time.
Memon also worked as Section Officer (General) in Sindh’s irrigation department where he had served for some ten months.
In 2013, Athar Bahzad was posted as Deputy Director, Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) at Hyderabad. Later, he was posted as Deputy Secretary, Bureau of Supply and Prices, Agriculture Department where he worked with utmost dedication and commitment.
In 2017, Athar was promoted to BS-18 and posted as Deputy Secretary (Resource Wing), Finance Department where he had worked for long time. He had also worked as Deputy Secretary (Development-I, II) of the Finance Department for some four years.
Later, he was posted as Director of the Public Private Partnership (PPP) program. In 2003, Mr Athar Bahzad Memon was promoted to BS-19 and posted as Director General, Monitoring and Evaluation Cell, Planning and Development Department.
Presently, Athar is serving as the most important responsibility as Additional Secretary, Planning and Development Department of the Sindh Government.
KARACHI: Badaruddin Daudpoto son of Qamaruddin Daudpoto was born on March 1, 1977 in Ghotki, the bordering district which connects Sindh with Punjab. He has six sisters and a brother and all of them are well-educated and well settled.
Badar’s father had served the Sindh Police who also owned different businesses including petrol pumps, agricultural lands, transport etc.
Mr Badar received his education from the most prominent educational institution – Public School Sukkur – and passed the matriculation from the Board of Secondary Education Sukkur in 1992. He clinched A1 grades.
Similarly, Badar cleared his intermediate from the Board of Intermediate Education, Sukkur, in 1994. Yet again he secured good grades.
Badaruddin Daudpoto was an extra genius student throughout his education who always took active participation in writing and debate competitions. He was well-known for his sportsman energy who played squash and football.
Badar also represented Board of Intermediate Education Sukkur at Islamabad and won medals. He also represented his team at All Sindh Inter Public School Weak which was organized by the Hyderabad Public School.
With an objective to do extraordinary in life, Mr Badar moved to Hyderabad, the second largest city of Sindh province, where he got admission in the most premier educational institution – Mehran University of Engineering and Technology – Jamshoro. He did his Bachelors of Engineering (B.E) in Civil in 2000 and grabbed 1st Division.
With an engineering degree, Badaruddin joined AA Associates, a consultant firm at the project of Attock Cement Factory as Junior Engineer where he had served for couple of years.
He also worked as Site Engineer in Siemens Pakistan at Desalination Plant of Defense Housing Authority (DHA). He also served as Project Engineer in Siemens Pakistan at Bhitt Jabal Gas Field.
He also worked as Project Head of M/s Telenor in Sindh province and supervised the overall network layout works. Once again, he joined AA Associates the project of Attock Cement Factory where he had served as Assistant Resident Engineer.
Badaruddin Daudpoto joined the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) in September 2012 as Senior Building Inspector.
While serving the most important institution, Mr Badar had served in Saddar Town-II, Gulshan Town-II, Shah Faisal Town, District East etc.
He had also assisted his seniors in multiple tasks aimed at strengthening the institution and to facilitate people of the province.
On the sidelines on his job, Badaruddin Daudpoto also got admission in Pakistan’s top education institution – NED University of Engineering and Technology – from where he completed his Masters of Urban & Regional Planning in 2015 and maintained 3.5 GPA.
He also clinched First Position in departmental examination conducted by the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA). Apart from the outstanding career, Badaruddin Daudpoto also carries distinct diploma from Pakistan Institute of Management in 2019. He also did One Week Course in Aerodrome and Safeguarding from the Civil Aviation Training Institute (CATI), Hyderabad.
