KARACHI: In a major breakthrough, as many as 590,000 youth of Sindh will get international certification under Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Skill Support Program aimed at polishing the workforce to meet global industry.
In this regard, the Sindh Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (STEVTA) and the Socio Engineering Technologies (SET), Certiport Pakistan have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a partnership fircthe joint collaboration for international certification of 590,000 youth of Sindh.
Managing Director Stevta Munawar Ali Mithani and Dr Sonia Saleem, Designation Founder CEO, Master Solution Provider Certiport USA signed the agreement at authority’s headquarters.
It is mentioned here that the Socio Engineering Technologies (SET) Pakistan is an authorized master solution provider of Certiport, USA in Pakistan since 2019.
While talking to Sindhnews, Managing Director Stevta Munawar Ali Mithani says that this collaboration will ensure that trainees receive high quality education and training aligned with information standards, ultimately fostering a robust and adoptable workforce capable of meeting global industry demand.
“The MoU is intended to establish partnership between SET and STEVTA for the joint collaboration for international certification of 500,000 certifications in Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Skill Support Program with an aim of enhancing the quality, accessibility and global recognition of professional development initiatives in Pakistan”, he added.
Mr Mithani added that the envisioned collaboration aims to play pivotal role in developing an internationally skilled workforce in mutually identified fields. This initiative will enhance the skill set of workforce, thereby increasing their employability and competitiveness in the global job market.

KARACHI: The Sindh Technical Education & Vocational Training Authority (STEVTA) has launched the Arabic Language classes in Karachi.
The classes of Arabic language were inaugurated by His Excellency Dr. Bakheet Ateeq Al Rehmeithi, Consul General of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at Government Vocational Training Institute (GVTI) for Girls, Bufferzone here on Thursday.
Dr Bakheet Atique Al Rehameithi encouraged students and presented a motivational words for the scope of Arabic language and subsequent career pathways.
While addressing the ceremony in Urdu, Dr. Bakheet Atiq Al Rehmeithi thanked the Sindh government specially STEVTA. He referred the meeting with Chief Minister and the agreed items on the Arabic Language should be promoted in Pakistan, and termed this initiative of Arabic language classes a good omen.
He also shared his research that in the past there were proper institutes in Karachi from there the aspirants for Gulf would gone through Arabic Language Course it was a good system. He also informed at present 7 million Pakistani are working in UAE and contributing with a good Remittance for Pakistan.
He acknowledged the role of Pakistanis in the overall development of UAE and its mega projects. He informed UAE has good investment in Pakistan and UAE organizations need Pakistani skilled workers. We will also provide support to for their job placement, he also shared that the graduate Ceremony shall be arranged by UAE for the encouragement of Arabic Language Graduates. In his Speech he also expressed his brotherhood with Pakistan and also advised that all negative propagandas against Pakistan should be discouraged and at all communication platform.
While welcoming the guests, Managing Director STEVTA Munawar Ali Mithani elaborated authority’s core objective and its outreach.
Currently, STEVTA has 252 institution across Sindh that included technical, commercial and vocational, he said, adding Arabic classes have been launched in two institute i.e. GVTI Al Hyderi and GVTI Bufferzone.
“We wish to sign a MoU with Consulate of UAE to expand Arabic Language Labs in other parts of the province including Hyderabad, Nawabshah, Mirpurkhas, Sukkur and Larkana”, Mithani says.
He also presented the words of thanks for the commitment of Dr Bakheet even in the emergency situation of UAE. The MD STEVTA also presented the guests with traditional gift of Ajrak and Sindhi cap.
KARACHI: The Sindh Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (STEVTA) is all set to impart skills training, behavioral therapy, academic training to transform lives of prisoners as good responsible citizens.
In this regard, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Stevta Managing Director Munawar Ali Mithani and Syed Munawar Ali Shah, IG, Sindh Prisons & Corrections Services. The agreement focuses on skill training for inmates and convicts at prisons across Sindh.
While talking to Sindhnews, Munawar Ali Mithani said that the MoU will be executed through a committee, comprising members from both sides. The joint core committee will be responsible to oversee and execute all activities of the partnership meant for rehabilitation of the prisoners including academic and technical vocational training program to transform the lives of prisoners to make them skilled, educated and good responsible citizens once they complete their period of conviction or confinement.
“Whereas in accordance with the vision, aim and objective of this MoU, both the partners have agreed to make collaborative efforts to arrange facilities for academic and vocational training exclusively for prisoners for their rehabilitation and to transform their lives to be skilled, educated and good citizens:, he added.
Elaborating further, Mr Mithani says Sindh Prisons and Corrections Service Act & Rules 2019 delineates about reformation, rehabilitation of the prisoners through different ways and means and to achieve such objectives. The program includes mandatory workshop training, academic coaching and behavioral therapy, which may upgrade education and character levels through intensive counselling and coaching to transform their lives.
– Way Forward – Road Map
Identify the most feasible academic and vocational training skills in the context of local economic potential to be imparted to the prisoners.
Develop Operational Training Manual to manage academic and vocational training facilities including fund disbursement relating to education and training expenses in terms of consumable, tools and equipment and salaries of trainers.
– Procurement
Wherever, the procurement process in involved, Stevta will proceed in accordance with prescribed procurement procedures under SPPRA Rules 2010.
– Roles and Responsibilities
Stevta will provide technical assistance to build the capacity of lead project team to successfully implement the project in Sindh province. The assistance shall include to guide and train the implementers to revamp existing training facilities in the selected prisons on modern lines by following international best practices.
All the expenses of the cost of technical assistance and equipment will be borne by Stevta and utilities with its allied accessories (electricity, gas, water, internet) shall be the responsibility of SP&CS.
The assessment and certification of the prisoners shall be made by the Sindh Board of Technical Educatuion/Sindh Trade Testing Board.
– Mandatory Provision
The above mutually agreed roles and responsibilities of the training program would be obligatory on both the partners, who shall be responsible for successful implementation of the project in the prisons of Sindh. Initially the period of MoU will be for 3 years extendable for further period depending on mutual understanding.
